RISHI at Pure Healthcare Names New Director of Power of Nursing™ Program

RISHI at Pure Healthcare has named Suzanne Scheller, MS, RN, CNE, as the director of the RISHI Power of NursingTM program. Scheller, an associate clinical professor at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) in Houston, will serve part time in her new role with the RISHI Power of Nursing program. She will continue her work at TWU as she assists RISHI with growing the Power of Nursing program.

The Power of Nursing program offers a 15-hour elective course that utilizes discovery model guidelines for nursing students and graduate nurses. It encourages respect for others, self-exploration and self-trust, allowing for personal ownership of the fundamental principles of healing. The course seeks to anchor nursing students to their personal principles and the core values of the nursing profession, promote professional resilience, and enable them to find joy and satisfaction in their daily work.

“Suzanne brings many years of relevant expertise, knowledge and experience to this role,” said Evangeline Andarsio, MD, director of RISHI at Pure Healthcare. “She understands the many long-standing and current challenges facing nursing schools throughout the United States.”

Scheller is honored and privileged to be named the director of the RISHI Power of Nursing program. “I am excited to join RISHI at Pure Healthcare,” Scheller said. “The Power of Nursing program represents tremendous potential in addressing the current issues future nurses and the nursing profession face related to the unprecedented challenges COVID-19 and the ongoing pandemic has presented.”

Now more than ever, nursing students and clinical nurses need ways to nurture resiliency and community, as well as offer self-care tools that the RISHI Power of Nursing program and curriculum offer.

“Suzanne is poised to bring the RISHI Power of Nursing program to all nursing schools and programs throughout the nation, applying her intimate knowledge and expertise as an academic nursing professional,” Andarsio said. “We are extremely honored and blessed to have Suzanne on our team.  We look forward to the future of Power of Nursing under Suzanne’s leadership.”
